Sponsorship Training presented by FIN

We are hosting a sponsorship training session hosted by Chris Osborne, Director of Programs at FIRST Indiana.  All FLL, FTC, FRC teams including their student members, mentors, parents, guardians, and volunteers are welcome!

We will provide snacks and water.

Please do the following in preparation for the workshop:

Workshop Prerequisites

  1. Watch Simon Sinek Ted Talk (17:47)

  2. Review the Community Analysis materials

  3. Teams please bring a copy of your budget (basic format is acceptable)

  4. Teams please bring:

    • One example of a successful fundraiser

    • One example of a less successful fundraiser

Agenda for 90 minutes training session:

1.  Warm up activities - ~10-15 minutes of some fun activities to get the brains and muscles moving.

2.  Why vs What - have students practice with each other explaining their why - have a few come do it front of group.

3.  Do the math:

    A. What is the team budget? - 

    B. What type of fundraising works best for the budget?

    C. How does that break down per participant?

    D. Sponsorship pyramid

    

4.  Steps to sponsorships:

    A. Find potential sponsor - review community analysis

    B. Get past gatekeeper/get meeting - practice 

    C. At meeting, get commitment - practice

    D. Nurture the sponsor
