Get ready for Boiler Bot Battle 2025, held on October 18th & 19th at the Tippecanoe County Fairgrounds!

This is our only post-season competition for 2025 REEFSCAPE. This is a great opportunity for new members, parents, and mentors to experience a competition!  All are highly encouraged to attend. 

Key Details:

  • Event Dates: 

    • October 18th & 19th, 2025

  • Location: 

  • Departure from New Tech: 

    • Saturday, October 18th at 11:30 AM CT

      • Students should arrive at 10:30 to help load the truck.

  • Return to New Tech: 

    • Sunday, October 19th at approximately 9:30 PM CT

  • Transportation: 

    • School bus

      • EVSC will provide transportation to and from New Tech Institute at the dates and times listed on the event details.

      • Students, Parents, Guardians, & Mentors are welcome to ride the bus as long as space permits.

        • 1-2 mentors will drive separately in the UHAUL.

      • Arrival times may change. We ask students to keep their parents/guardians informed of what time we will arrive back at New Tech Institute.

Additional Info

Meals & Expenses

  • New Tech Institute provides breakfast, lunch, and dinner for students & mentors (unless otherwise communicated) for trips of varying lengths. Lunches are usually provided by event mentors, while breakfast and dinner are usually at a restaurant or hotel. 

  • Parents & Guardians are responsible for their meal Saturday night and Sunday night

  • Students will not incur any additional expenses. Students must bring their own money to purchase items not included as part of one of the meals. 

Hotel Rooms

  • Students will room with 2-3 other student team members. ALL SCHOOL RULES APPLY during the entire trip. We trust you to be respectful and responsible!!

Packing List

  • Close-toed shoes

  • Change of clothes for Sunday (where an orange Thunderbots or New Tech shirt)

  • Money for incidentals

  • Any electronics and chargers you’ll need

  • Parents/families are very welcome to attend the matches if you would like!

  • We’ll post pictures and updates to New Tech's social media pages.

  • We’ll provide snacks on the bus and at the competition since some meal times are later than normal.

Departure/Arrival times are Central Time. Event times are Eastern Time.

Saturday 10/18

  • 10:30 am CT - Students and mentors arrive at New Tech to help load the truck.

  • 11:30 am CT - Depart New Tech Institute High School

    • Cross into Eastern Time Zone

  • 4:00 pm ET – Teams arrive to unload in pits

  • 6:00 pm – 7:00 pm ET– Practice Matches (if field assembly is completed)

  • 8:00 pm ET – Doors close

  • 8:30 pm ET - Team Dinner

  • 10:00 pm ET - Check in at hotel

  • 10:30 pm ET - Lights out

Sunday 10/19

  • 6:30 am ET - Breakfast at hotel

  • 7:00 am ET - Check out of hotel and head to event

  • 7:15 am ET – Doors open, teams start loading in

  • 7:15 am ET – 7:45 am – Field open for camera calibration

  • 7:45 am ET – 8:15 am – Drivers meeting / Opening ceremonies

  • 8:15 am ET – 12:30 pm – Qualifying matches

  • 12:30 pm ET – 1:00 pm – Alliance selection

  • 1:00 pm ET – 2:00 pm – Lunch (Provided by Thunderbots Mentors)

  • 2:00 pm ET – 5:30 pm – Playoffs

  • 5:30 pm ET – 6:00 pm – Closing ceremonies

  • 6:00 pm ET - Depart Tippecanoe County Fairgrounds

  • 7:45 pm ET - Stop in Bloomington for supper

  • Cross to Central Time Zone

  • 9:30 pm CT - Arrive at New Tech Institute

    • Unload the truck and school bus

  • 10:00 pm CT - Student pick up from New Tech Institute

Roboteer Rumble

Roboteer Rumble is a FIRST Robotics Competition offseason event in Tremont, IL. On October 26th, up to 36 teams from around the Midwest will come to Tremont High School to play the 2024 FRC game, Crescendo. The event is free and open to the public.
